OpenAirInterface

Open source hardware/software for wireless communications

OpenAirInterface offers an open source software platform for mobile telecommunications systems such as 5G. By making it possible to reproduce a complete 5G environment, with all the key components of such a system (software for mobile terminals, base stations, core network, as well as communication protocols), it provides a testing ground for designing and testing innovations in the field of radio access networks.

The platform also brings together a community of software developers, called the OpenAirInterface Software Alliance, bringing together academic and industrial partners and helping to advance scientific research into mobile networks.

Areas of expertise

  • Software for telecommunications
  • Mobile communications and networks (GSM, GPRS, UMTS, EDGE, LTE...)
  • 5G experiments
  • Development of technical specifications for mobile network standards
  • Telecommunications standardization (3GPP, ITU, ETSI, ARIB/TTC, CCSA, ATIS, TTA)
