On November 22, the Grand Prix IMT-Académie des sciences 2022 will be awarded in the Coupole of the Institut de France. For the past five years, this prize has been awarded to researchers for their outstanding scientific work.
The winner of this prize, awarded by the Institut Mines-Télécom (IMT) and the Académie des Sciences, is a researcher whose actions have led to exceptional advances in optical engineering and robotics: Jean-Louis de Bougrenet de la Tocnaye, Professor and Head of the Optics Department at IMT Atlantique, and head of the Arago platform, which has been awarded the double label of IMT & Carnot Platform Telecom & Digital Society.
"I'm very grateful to the Institut Mines-Télécom and the Académie des Sciences for this award, which I'm proud to share with my colleagues, students and doctoral candidates. This distinction is recognition of the dynamism of our engineering schools, which must demonstrate a broad transdisciplinary knowledge to face the multiple challenges of modern society," continues the researcher. "I hope that this award will encourage other young scientists to take their turn in the adventure of new technologies, which are more than ever inseparable from human beings."
A hope prize will also be awarded at the ceremony to Silvère Bonnabel, research associate at the Centre de Robotique, and professor at MINES Paris :
"I am particularly pleased to receive this prestigious award, which recognizes work combining mathematical theory and industrial applications in the field of automation. I would like to thank all my collaborators, both researchers and engineers, starting with the students I have had the good fortune to mentor."
Carnot Télécom & Société numérique congratulates these two researchers, who have made exceptional advances in areas of major interest.
