The 54th Paris Air Show came to a close a few days ago, leaving order books full. The show saw the setting of an all-time record for an Airbus 320 order. The Indian company Indigo signed the largest contract ever in civil aviation, with a quantity of 500 Airbus A320s for a total amount of 55 billion dollars. To keep pace and deliver on time, aircraft manufacturers are having to redouble their efforts against a backdrop of shortages of electronic components and materials, as well as recruitment difficulties in the aerospace sector. One year after signing their framework agreement, Institut Mines-Télécom (IMT) and Esaris Industries are innovating to meet the growing needs of the market.

This strategic collaboration between the ITM, one of France's leading research and higher education establishments and recipient of the TSN Institut Carnot label, and Esaris Industries, a steadily growing mid-sized company specializing in electrical components for the aerospace, aeronautics and rail industries, has created exciting new prospects for technological development and entrepreneurship. In June 2022, the two entities signed a strategic corporate partnership laying the foundations for fruitful cooperation and symbiosis between the academic and industrial worlds. One year later, ITM and Esaris share a stand at the Paris Air Show to present their collaboration.

Research, training, innovation and transfer. These are key values shared by the two partners, who intend to respond to a number of issues, including the shortage of manpower and the difficulty of recruiting young employees. To meet this challenge, ITM and Esaris Industries are working in partnership to ensure the revival of the aeronautical sector. By encouraging research and technological innovation, this collaboration is helping to create highly-skilled jobs in the high-tech sector. What's more, the new technological solutions developed as part of this cooperation can help solve societal challenges and boost the competitiveness of French companies on a global scale.

The Paris Air Show was also an opportunity for the ITM to demonstrate that the group of schools offers a genuine continuum of training, research and innovation.
