May 31, 2024 - Big Data & AI - Industry of the future - Smart City

The 8th edition of VivaTech came to a successful close! After four intense days, three of which were reserved for professionals followed by a day open to the general public, the Paris show closed its doors on Saturday May 25. The event once again brought together key players in innovation, mainly from France for the major companies, highlighting the major trends that will shape the future. Personalities such as Linda Yaccarino, Thierry Breton, John Kerry, Eric Schmidt, as well as rising AI figures like Arthur Mensch of Mistral AI and Dario Amodei of Anthropic marked the event. The Carnot TSN institute invited two of its startups, Runblind and Shift89, to the Carnot Network stand at this not-to-be-missed event.
Record-breaking effervescence
Bruno Le Maire, the French Minister of the Economy, and Marina Ferrari, the French Secretary of State for the Digital Economy, were both present at this 2024 edition of French Tech. The Paris show was an opportunity to celebrate the buzz around AI in France, to take stock of the "Je choisis la French Tech" initiative almost a year after its launch, and to congratulate the new winners of the Next 40 and the French Tech 120.
Artificial intelligence (AI) was undeniably the star of this year's event, permeating virtually every field of tech. AI giants such as Anthropic, which had a space on the AWS stand, and Mistral AI, with Arthur Mensch speaking, presented their latest advances and visions. The omnipresence of AI was reflected in the figures, with almost 37% of partners offering solutions based on this technology.
Institut Mines-Télécom, which runs the Carnot TSN institute, was also present, and gave 4 of its startups the opportunity toexhibit their innovative solutions: Comin, Gare ta bécane, Gobi App and Monelectrobox.
In terms of figures, the show's organizers have announced a total of 165,000 visitors from 120 countries, 13,500 startups, around 350 exhibitors and 400 speakers, and 2,000 investors for 2024. A total of 40 regions and national pavilions were present, with Japan in the spotlight, reflecting an international ecosystem.
The Carnot TSN institute will be present on the Carnot Network stand with two of its startups
The Carnot Network was also present at this key European event, with 22 startups taking part in the four-day event. The Carnot startups were :
✅ very high-level technologies,
✅ a close connection with committed R&D teams,
✅ flexible, long-term support to create useful value together.
Carnots, including the Carnot TSN institute, provide companies with the very best in technology, thanks to their scientific excellence, their professionalism in partnership research... and their business start-ups. Every year, the Carnot Network launches over 100 deeptech startups.
Among these companies, the Carnot TSN institute was able to showcase two of its startups: the founders of Runblind, a startup from the École Polytechnique, a component of the Carnot TSN institute, were able to present their 3D sound guidance technology through multiple demonstrations. This was also the case for representatives from Shift89. This startup has signed a framework agreement with the Carnot TSN institute in 2021 for research, innovation and training dedicated to the digital transformation of industry. A young innovative company, Shift89 specializes in augmented reality and digital solutions in the context of the transformation towards the industry of the future.
As a result, this year's VivaTech attracted no fewer than 165,000 visitors, a 10% increase on the previous year. Since its creation in 2016, VivaTech has established itself as a must-attend event on the global technology scene.
