A look back at the participation of ITM, pilot of the TSN Carnot, at the Paris Air Show.

July 7, 2025 - Industry of the future

Once again this year, the Institut Mines-Télécom (IMT), which runs the Carnot institute Télécom & Société numérique, took part in the Paris Air Show 2025, a key event in the aerospace sector.
Until June 22, the IMT was present alongside its industrial partner ESARIS INDUSTRIES on the joint stand (Hall 2B - F137), to present its training courses, research activities, technology platforms and incubators.

With this presence, the ITM has confirmed its historic position as a major player in higher education and research in France, and as a powerful vector of transformation at the service of digital, industrial and environmental transitions.

A renewed and meaningful partnership

The partnership between the Institut Mines-Télécom (IMT) and ESARIS INDUSTRIES fully embodies the vocation of the IMT: to build bridges between academic research and the strategic needs of the industrial world.
ESARIS INDUSTRIES is a French industrial group renowned for its expertise in the design and manufacture of electrical and electronic interconnection solutions. Present in demanding sectors such as aeronautics, space, defense and energy, its technologies guarantee performance, reliability and safety, contributing directly to the competitiveness and innovation of strategic industries.

This partnership takes shape through a number of concrete actions: the setting up of collaborative research and development projects, the development of new materials and processes supported in particular by IMT Nord Europe's Materials and Processes Center, and the transfer of scientific knowledge to industry. It is also reflected in the fact that ESARIS INDUSTRIES welcomes students and doctoral students for internships or theses, thus strengthening the links between training and industrial practice.

By pooling their expertise, ITM and ESARIS INDUSTRIES are pursuing a common goal: to anticipate major technological and environmental transformations, support industrial innovation and actively contribute to the growth of strategic sectors such as aeronautics and space.

Thus, on June 16, for the second year running, several ITM players, including Laurent Ebner, in charge of major ITM partnerships, were present on a joint stand at the Paris Air Show 2025, to demonstrate the relevance and impact of ITM's work at the heart of a benchmark international show.

 Highlights and milestones

1/ Exceptional student immersion

On June 18, some twenty students from #IMT schools and the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de l'Electronique et de ses Applications (ENSEA), an ITM partner, enjoyed a unique immersive day.
This initiative, supported by the Observatoire des métiers de l'IMT (in the company of Martine ASSAR LEINENWEBER), enabled them to meet leading companies and discover first-hand the many professions in the aerospace industry.

The ITM warmly thanked GIFAS - Groupement des Industries Françaises Aéronautiques et Spatiales - and the 9 partner companies for their welcome and their commitment to the training and future of young talent.

On the same day, eight students were invited to take part in an exceptional immersive experience with the Airbus group, to gain a better understanding of the activities, organization and challenges of one of the flagships of the European aerospace industry.

2/ A space for scientific exchange and mediation

On the joint stand with ESARIS INDUSTRIES, teams from the Carnot institute Télécom & Société numérique and ITM's training department led information and dialogue sessions.
They presented :

  • Engineering, management and doctoral programs offered by ITM schools
  • Research and scientific innovation activities
  • Cutting-edge technology platforms available to companies
  • Support for #entrepreneurship and #innovation

These exchanges enabled the ITM to highlight its integrated approach: linking education, research and innovation to meet major industrial and societal challenges.

3/ Strategic collaboration with Airbus

During the show, ITM staff (Martine ASSAR LEINENWEBER and Frédérique Vincent) also highlighted participation in the Airbus Academic Partnership program.
This program brings together 25 Airbus academic partners and aims to develop the strategic skills expected by the #aerospace industry, with a particular focus on :

  • Innovation
  • Sustainability
  • Emerging technologies

This is essential to anticipate the sector's future needs and train the talents of tomorrow.

A positive balance sheet with a promising future

Throughout the show, the ITM demonstrated :

  • Its ability to link training, research and industry
  • The diversity and complementarity of its schools and institutes
  • Its historic and renewed commitment to supporting industrial, digital and environmental transitions

The event was also an opportunity to highlight the strength of the Institut Mines-Télécom network, which includes ten schools and three associate schools, several of which have been awarded the Carnot Télécom & Société numérique institute label.

Towards new challenges

With this noteworthy presence alongside ESARIS INDUSTRIES, the ITM has confirmed the relevance of its model linking education, research and innovation.
Backed by the commitment of its schools and partners, it intends to pursue and intensify its action to prepare talented people, support innovation and accompany the sustainable transformation of the aerospace industry, together with the Carnot TSN institute.

New collaborations, projects and initiatives to anticipate tomorrow's major technological and industrial changes.
